Cover photo of Rainham in 1906 shortly after the trams came from Chatham. Gas lighting had arrived in 1870 and trasnformed the centre of the town. Read the "Gas Comes to Rainham" article on page 9.

Cover photo of Rainham War Memorial which is a replica of the Cross of Iona which was unveiled and dedicated on 20th December 1920. The service was the last conducted by Vicar John Mainwaring Tamplin who struggled from his sickbed to take the service and died shortly afterwards.
