Back in March 2016 a brand new micropub opened in Rainham called the Prince of Ales. As a fan of micropubs for the last few years and someone who enjoys real ales it was a great prospect to have somewhere so local to sample them on a regular basis. Well the first anniversary of the Prince of Ales is rapidly approaching and over the weekend of 10/11/12 March they're having a micro beer festival with some of the favorites ales from the last year and up to 12 ales on offer.

For anyone unaccustomed to a micropub it's primarily an alehouse and although some wines and ciders are generally available the focus is definitely on the beer. There is no music and conversation is encouraged so it's a great place to meet other locals to have a chat.

Even better with the Prince of Ales there is now a local history section on one wall so you can see some old photos of the area as large prints so it's definitely worth popping in for a look.

Here are some of the photos of the building now and how the building looked back in 2001 when it was still part of the Post Office stores.
