The Flying Saucer pub opened on Hempstead Road in 1951 but was previously a working men's club as shown in the earlier photo from the 1920s below.
The pub closed in June 2024 and the local community are looking to reopen it as a community pub. It has been listed as an ACV - Asset of Community Value.
