The old police station in Rainham Kent closed in 2007. The site remained derelict for some years with the building boarded up and advertised for sale. Presumably the recession affected the company looking to redevelop the site.
As of 2013 the site of the Rainham police station has now been cleared and the former police station building demolished. In late 2013 the construction of a new block of flats has now begun.
The photo below would have been taken in the 1960s or 1970s when the station was in full use. Interestingly it appears that the building to the right was still being constructed from the debris in front of it - the windows in the later photo alsio seem to be missing so presumably were added at a later date.
